English cricketer Joseph Edward Root was born on December 30, 1990. He now represents the England Test match and One Day International (ODI) teams and formerly led the Test side.

He sometimes plays for Yorkshire in domestic cricket in England. Currently, Root leads all active batsmen in runs scored and ranks as the twelfth-highest run scorer in Test cricket history.

Joe Root Test Cricket Debut: 2012

Root’s dependability earned him a place in the Test team, and he was chosen for England’s momentous tour of India in 2012. Alastair Cook and his team won the Test series against all odds. Root’s initial performance stood out amid other outstanding performances.

England was 139 for five when the younger Root went up to bat in Nagpur. The team included some of India’s best bowlers, including Ravindra Jadeja, Piyush Chawla, Ravi Ashwin, and Pragyan Ojha.

In 2013, Joe Root got his first century against New Zealand. Root was the first York player to record his first Test century at Headingley, striking 104 runs off 167 balls. Root led England to their best Test total against Sri Lanka of 575 by scoring an immaculate 200 from 298 balls with 16 fours. He has a double century, making him the fourth youngest English batsman.

In the first Test between England and India at Trent Bridge, Root got his fourth Test century for England. He and James Anderson shared a record-breaking 198-run 10th wicket partnership, which enabled England to score 496 thanks to his unbeaten 154.

Root grabbed three catches in the fourth Test as Australia was bowled out. He continued to score 130 (his eighth Test century), becoming the youngest English batsman ever to score three Ashes centuries and support England in winning the Ashes.

Root was included in the England Test team in May 2022 for the New Zealand cricket team’s visit to England. He hit 115 in the second innings of the first Test cricket match, boosting England’s pursuit of 277 runs. He contributed to England’s success in chasing 296 runs by scoring 86 in the second innings of the third Test match.
