The Southampton, England-based Rose Bowl Stadium, established in 2001, has hosted several thrilling cricket matches since then, often with favorable conditions for the local team. The stadium is an architectural wonder and a pleasure for the fans because of its amphitheater-bowl layout.

Rose Bowl: Home to Hampshire County Cricket Club

Hampshire met Worcestershire in their first game at the stadium in 2001, and Hampshire won by a score of 124 runs.

The stadium has held international matches such as One Day Internationals, Test matches, and ODIs. It held the 2004 Champions Trophy and test matches in 2011, 2014, and 2018. A four-star hotel with 175 rooms was built at the northern end of the pavilion, and two similar stands were built on either side to permanently extend the capacity to 15,000 people. Permanent food facilities are located at the interior entrance of these two new stands.

Rose Bowl Cricket Ground Host Test Cricket

Hampshire requested the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for the Ageas Bowl to be accorded Test status and the opportunity to host Test matches.

The stadium’s renovation and other construction work began in 2008 to be ready to hold Test matches. As part of this renovation, stands were erected to boost capacity, and other construction tasks were carried out to make hosting international matches at the stadium more feasible.

In 2015, a four-star Hilton Hotel with a built-in media center and a view of the ground was opened. Eastleigh Borough Council has owned the Rose Bowl since January 2012.

• On July 13, 2005, England and Australia played a match at the Rose Bowl Ground.
